The Sevadis MaxiCharger is a chargepoint we regularly choose as the solution for our customers. We find it easy to install and commission and the unit looks good!
Order and purchase of the unit
We order the unit direct from the supplier. From placing the order to delivery, it usually takes 48 hours. This enables us to offer a quick turnaround from enquiry to installation, which is a win, win for both us and our clients. Ordering directly from Sevadis enables us to offer the very best prices to our customers.
Versatility
The Maxi Charger offers so many options. They provide a single and three phase solution as well as being tethered or untethered. Although the Maxi Charger is a wall mounted unit, using the Maxi Charger Pillar the chargepoint can then be turned into a free-standing charger as a single, dual, three-way and four-way socket option.
Sevadis has recently launched a three-phase version of the Maxi Charger with an LCD screen. This further enhances the possibilities for this unit as the screen, provides users with real time charging information and advertising opportunities.
Having all these options enables us to confidently promote this chargepoint to both commercial and domestic customers. This is evident by the fact we have already fitted this unit on domestic dwellings, a mechanic’s garage and at our local parish council office to name but a few.
Installation
The Maxi Charger comes with a clear step by step instruction manual for both installing and commissioning. There is a mounting template within the box which assists with ensuring the unit is fitted in the correct place for the customer. The mounting plate is detached from the charger meaning this can be easily fitted to the wall before the unit is then easily fitted onto the plate.
The only draw back we have found with the installation process is the access to terminate the power connections is a little small and therefore some of our engineers find it a bit tight and fiddly. However, with the options of both a rear cable and bottom cable entry it gives our engineers the opportunity to wire up the unit in different ways, dependant on the cable run.
Commissioning
Amongst the units that we install, the Maxi Charger is by far the easiest unit to commission and set up for the customer. The charger requires a Bluetooth connection as a minimum to enable the customer to set up and be ready to charge.
For commercial use, the unit is OCPP 1.6 compliant meaning it can be commissioned to most back-office platforms available.
End user experience
The Autel App that is used for domestic customers to pair with their chargepoint is easy to navigate. It has a number of features available such as schedule charging, delayed charging and the ability to lock off the chargepoint.
One unique feature that really benefits domestic customers is the ability to advertise the chargepoint to neighbours who may not have access to a EV charger. You as a Maxi Charger owner can set tariffs and availability slots to bring in some additional revenue, so long as you don’t mind someone being parked on your drive whilst they charge!
In summary we have found the Sevadis Maxi Charger to be an excellent chargepoint solution for all markets. As it’s available in single and three phase, tethered and untethered and it can be turned into a floor standing unit, there isn’t many installs where the Maxi Charger wouldn’t be the ideal solution.
